Hysteria 2.0 launch. New way to bypass censorship.

Hysteria 2 is a lightweight protocol based on QUIC. The code is mostly written in Go and is fully open-source. The main strength is Brutal, a congestion control algorithm that tries to achieve a user-defined bandwidth despite packet loss.

We have been watching and following Hysteria’s development for a long time and have also donated to the project. We plan to continue supporting Hysteria’s development because we appreciate its clear vision and well-documented implementation, which many other protocols lack. Our team enjoyed working on integrating Hysteria with our system and testing it out.

How to get access?

To get access to Hysteria 2.0, simply update your subscription within the client of your choice. Most clients already support Hysteria 2.0, and it should work just like any other protocol.

If you have never used Stealth Proxies before start with the guides.

How well does it work in countries with internet censorship?

We will go through the most important points. For a detailed view of availability in other countries, you can check the “Service Availability” section on the status page at the bottom.

China:
Even though the GFW rarely blocks UDP-based proxies, such protocols often have more obvious characteristics than TCP-based proxies. Currently, we would classify Hysteria 2.0 as “partially blocked,” depending on your provider, region, and the servers you are connecting to.

Iran:
Partially blocked. Iran has previously blocked QUIC traffic to servers outside the country temporarily. We do not know the exact situation at the moment, but accessibility will heavily depend on the operator and region, similar to China.

Russia:
Mostly available. HTTP/3 is not very stable in Russia and might cause occasional issues. However, based on our initial testing and user feedback, it appears to work well.

Salamander Support

One of the main benefits of Hysteria is that its traffic resembles normal HTTP/3. However, if we enable Salamander, it will no longer function as a standard HTTP/3 server. We may add a limited number of servers with Salamander support in the future.

Available Locations

We will roll out new locations gradually over the coming weeks. Hysteria is deployed entirely separately from other Stealth Proxies and does not share the same infrastructure. This means the number of available locations will likely be lower compared to other protocols, but we will still aim to provide a balanced selection for our users.

Available on launch:

🇫🇮 Finland
🇱🇹 Lithuania
🇩🇪 Germany
🇨🇭 Switzerland
🇵🇱 Poland
🇺🇸 USA, New York

Interview with the Hysteria Developer

During development, we also contacted the lead developer of Hysteria and had a great opportunity to do an interview. The interview is nearly complete and the final part is an opportunity for our community to ask questions. The best questions will be selected and asked. Simply send your question(s) here. Submissions will be accepted for couple of days.

8th Available Protocol

This update marks an important milestone: we now offer 8 protocols in total. And the best part? Everything is included at the same price as before no bundles, no extra charges. One subscription, simple and fair pricing:

  1. WireGuard
  2. OpenVPN
  3. AmneziaWG
  4. Shadowsocks
  5. VMess
  6. VLESS
  7. Trojan
  8. Hysteria 2.0

We’re really proud of this achievement, and there are very few competitors that can match us in this area. None of this would have been possible without you. As always, we want to thank everyone who has supported us over the years and trusted our service.

A quick reminder: Hysteria was originally requested via the Hub. If you have ideas or requests, make sure to tell us or upvote other people’s ideas!
