I just wanted to say a huge thank you for not dismissing the MTProto request and for actually spinning up a test server. I read your concerns about MTProto (maintenance, detectability, stability, etc.), so it genuinely means a lot that you still decided to test it and let users try it.
My experience so far has been really good. Telegram is flying for me: messages, photos, and videos load/send instantly. Video messages (“circles”) work perfectly too. And the best part — even audio and video calls work without any issues at all (no lag, no drops, nothing).
In my region Telegram (especially media/video) is heavily throttled at the network level, and regular VPN protocols don’t really help. With your MTProto setup, the difference is night and day — it actually solved the problem.
If possible, I’d really love to see MTProto become a proper supported option included in the subscription (even if it stays as a Telegram-only feature), not just a temporary test. For me it’s been incredibly useful.
