MTProxy

Hello!

I’m a user of your service and I appreciate the quality of your VPN and proxy offerings. I see that Xeovo supports various protocols and has Stealth proxies available, and the support team has been very responsive in the past.

I would like to request MTProto proxy support specifically for Telegram traffic. In my region, Telegram media traffic (especially video) is heavily throttled at the network level, and regular VPN protocols like WireGuard/VLESS often do not improve video performance. MTProto is currently the most effective way to make Telegram media load well.

Could you please:

  1. Add MTProto proxy support to your service (even as an extra feature)?
  2. Or provide guidance on how to configure MTProto through your existing infrastructure?

I would greatly appreciate any help or suggestions.

Thank you in advance!

Originally we wanted to reject this (more on this down below), but we could do small testing and create one server for free to all users in Telegram. Won't hurt much and we will see how well it actually works.

Reasons why we wanted to reject this:

  1. Original MTProto repo hasn't been updated since 2018
  2. It can be detected and blocked
  3. There is actually no guarantee that media will load faster. From our research it's other way.
  4. Does not work with calls.
  5. It will only work with Telegram. Why would we focus on one platform instead of adding protocols like Hysteria that all of our users can use?

We will do some testing and publish access in our Telegram channel (if testing goes well). There are one fork written in Rust and that's actively maintained that we could use.

Speaking of hysteria, it hasn't worked for about a month now. Is that supposed to be the case? In v2ray, for example, the ping test shows -1ms.

Thanks for being open to testing MTProto. I think it would be very helpful, and I'm really looking forward to trying it out!

That does not sound right. Verify that you are actually connected to the proxy first https://doesmyvpn.work

If the issue persist please send us a ticket and tell which exact server and protocols you used, so we can double check it ourself. Thanks.

We are done with the testing phase. So far the results are "Okay", however we have no idea how stable it is going to be under high load.

Before we publish it everywhere we would like some of you to test it out and share your experience.

Hi!
I just wanted to say a huge thank you for not dismissing the MTProto request and for actually spinning up a test server. I read your concerns about MTProto (maintenance, detectability, stability, etc.), so it genuinely means a lot that you still decided to test it and let users try it.

My experience so far has been really good. Telegram is flying for me: messages, photos, and videos load/send instantly. Video messages (“circles”) work perfectly too. And the best part — even audio and video calls work without any issues at all (no lag, no drops, nothing).
In my region Telegram (especially media/video) is heavily throttled at the network level, and regular VPN protocols don’t really help. With your MTProto setup, the difference is night and day — it actually solved the problem.
If possible, I’d really love to see MTProto become a proper supported option included in the subscription (even if it stays as a Telegram-only feature), not just a temporary test. For me it’s been incredibly useful.

Thanks again for the work you’re doing and for being so responsive. I’m happy to keep testing and share more feedback if you need it.

Best regards,
wqw

I'll test it this weekend and I'll also write how well it works.

I agree with the previous commenter. Thank you for not ignoring the request of a few users and for implementing everything so quickly. I once created a thread in which I wrote about the futility of voting, as I thought. I thought you wouldn't care about the opinions of a few people. I admit I was wrong.

I tested it this weekend. It works well; videos load faster with mobile data than with Hysteria2. I didn't encounter any connection issues, but to be fair, this weekend was the first time I was able to connect to Amnezia using mobile data. Perhaps this has something to do with the recent DDoS attack on Roskomnadzor, or perhaps their traffic analysis system is temporarily down.
