Russia wants to increase power of their internet censorship by 2.5 times.

The authorities decided to increase the power of equipment for blocking internet traffic by 2.5 times

The Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation has published an order on a work plan until 2030, which stipulates a significant increase in the throughput capacity of technical means of countering threats (TMCs), used to block and slow down internet resources. During this time, the throughput capacity of the automated security system (ASS) 😭, on which TMCs operate, will increase by 2.5 times to 954 Tbit/s. The department intends to increase the coverage of internet traffic by the control system to 100% already in 2026, reports "Kommersant".

At the same time, the funding of the specialized federal project "Cybersecurity Infrastructure" will increase by 21.7% — to 83.7 billion rubles (for comparison: the budget revenues of the Smolensk region in 2026, according to the plan, will amount to 90 billion rubles). These funds will mainly go towards increasing the throughput capacity and updating the ASS with the aim of ensuring "network sovereignty and information security" on the internet by 2030, the order says.

TMCs have been installed on the networks of telecom operators in Russia since 2019 based on the requirements of Roskomnadzor.

But the trend is certainly bad, and unfortunately, not just in Russia. Eh, leave me a corner of the world where there's a gray area. Good old-fashioned paperwork. Cash only. Normal food without insect flour, carcinogenic dyes, and other crap.

Maybe someone reading this forum knows where in the world there's a remaining island of stability? I'd be happy to go there. Uruguay still seems like a good place to live normally. And southern Europe, at a stretch, but not for long.

The world will be never utopian, no matter in what political wing you are, it's because of people themselves, the WEF ain't letting you to have a bright future, we're basically killing ourselves

It's funny that a world where there's normal food instead of shit and where there's no widespread digitalization is already considered a utopia.
